Kuppa Celebrates MEDC Support of Local Company Expansion
TROY — The Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC) announced this week that the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) board has approved incentives to Midland Credit Management to aid in their expansion of their current facility in Troy. The company has been awarded a $450,000 performance-based grant from the Michigan Business Development Program. State Rep. Padma Kuppa (D-Troy) welcomed the good news and noted that the expansion is expected to result in the creation of 150 new jobs.
“Supporting our local small businesses is crucial in growing our economy and ensuring the financial wellbeing of families across our district,” said Kuppa. “I would like to thank the MEDC for its continued support of these types of projects, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact this grant will have on our community and the opportunities Midland Credit Management will be able to provide because of it.”
Founded in 1953, Midland Credit Management helps consumers address overdue financial obligations through education and payment plans, with the goal of returning the customer to good financial health. The city of Troy is offering to assist in filling the newly created positions at the company.
